Questions come hand in hand with each new stage of a relationship.
The first one is usually “What are we?” for those who have yet to put a label on things. Along the way, more questions come up, although they may differ from couple to couple. “Is it time to move in together?” or “Should we get a pet?” are prime examples.
Yet, there’s one question every man should ask before asking the question. It’s a simple, innocuous question that should never be avoided if a happy, prosperous life with your partner happens to be your goal.

Some may think they don’t need to ask themselves this. After all, if the relationship has reached a level of seriousness to consider marriage as a viable option, then the woman in question should already have the necessary qualities of a wife. While that’s ideally true, it isn’t always the case.
With something as important as deciding on a spouse, it pays to err on the side of caution. So, here are some qualities every woman should have before you can say with certainty that she has what it takes to be a wife:
When Her Love is Unwavering and Mature
First thing’s first, we have to broach the topic of love. Having someone by your side through thick and thin is one of the foundations of a good marriage. When a woman loves you on good days and bad, and does not have extended periods where she’s emotionally unavailable, then you’ve got unwavering right there.
As for a mature love, that means she loves you for you and not because of anything arbitrary. This kind of love also means that she’ll push you when you need pushing, call you out when you need calling out, all because of how much she cares. No buts or ifs about it.
When Her Resilience and Overall Capabilities are Top Tier
Life can be quick to knock us down. A wife is more than just someone who loves you; she’s someone you can rely on for when things get tough (and vice versa, of course). A woman who can handle setbacks like a champ is going to help make things easier if you marry her.
Beyond resilience, the topic of marriage also implies maturity and capability. Both partners should be able to learn and develop skills so that their marriage will not just survive, but thrive. If a woman has high communication skills, financial management skills, among others, then you know you’ve got a keeper.
When Her Trustworthiness Is Beyond Reproach
As the saying goes, without trust there is no love. So, that means you can’t make a woman a wife if you have any reason not to trust her. You may love each other and you may be mature individuals who are ready for anything, but mistrust is like a cancer that grows and spreads.
While trust is important for any relationship, it is doubly so as far as marriage is concerned. It can be given freely or it can be earned, but those women who prove themselves to be absolutely trustworthy time and time again can proudly say that they are, in fact, wife material.
Regardless of where you found the woman of your dreams, be it through a serendipitous manner or through an active search for love abroad, it pays to find out if she embodies any of the qualities listed above.
